Studio Mission

It is our studio mission to provide complete and comprehensive instruction in an environment that promotes a positive self-image, opportunity for personal growth and an appreciation and enthusiasm for the art of dance.

We pride ourselves on creating an atmosphere that encourages students to develop their creativity and passion for dance while inspiring them to reach their highest potential. It is our desire that every student of every ability can maximize their talent and go through our program with an increased appreciation for the arts, and a stronger sense of individual achievement.

We aim to provide all of our students with a lifelong passion for dance and the arts, and a positive exposure to all disciplines of dance.

Studio History

Michelle Latimer opened MLDA in 1992, after having been a highly sought after dance teacher and choreographer in the Denver Metro area for over a decade.

The studio began with two dance rooms and expanded to include a third dance room after 3 years. MLDA now boasts having successfully nurtured and developed thousands of dancers over the past 14 years, many who have gone on to prosperous careers in the areas of dance, music, acting, teaching and choreography.

Our current faculty consists of some of the most qualified and respected teachers in the region, many of whom have also been former students of the academy. MLDA has been a member of Dance Spirit Magazines " Top Studios on the Move" for several years, and has garnered many national awards and achievements for excellence since the studio's inception.

MLDA continues to be a studio with the honor of attaining top guest teachers and master artists from around the world, who come to the studio to work with our highly respected dancers.

Competitive Company

The MLDA competitive company consists of the finest young dancers and performers in their respective age categories. These dancers train several hours week in the disciplines of ballet,jazz, hip hop, tap, lyrical,modern, and musical theater.

These enthusiastic performers compete and perform all over the world and have traveled extensively to dance and take classes from some of the best teachers in the country. These fine performers have a reputation for their exceptional technique and mastery of a variety of dance styles.

Auditions for this accelerated company are held every May.
