Teamwork Makes The Dream Work!
October has arrived! Classes and rehearsals are in full motion! As we delve into our dance season a little more, it's important to focus on our consistency and how that impacts teamwork. In order to develop a strong connected team, we have to adopt consistent behaviors. We should make every effort to embody consistency in the following ways;
Being on time
Bringing our best effort
Being prepared (reviewing & remembering notes)
Being a great listener
Trying to improve
Accepting corrections
Being compassionate and non-judgmental
Being humble
Consideration of each others time
Being grateful for opportunities
We have positive dance experiences when we show up consistently for each other and uphold our commitments. The level of natural talent on a team is far less important than the cohesivity of that team. How do you best contribute to the overall environment in the classroom? Are you open to corrections? Are you able to recognize the greatness in others? Are you humble when receiving praise or awards? Being mindful of how our energy and individual behavior affects the room is vital. Being consistent with our attendance is always important to build the solidarity of our team, as well.
So, lean in to Spooky Season, show your teammates you are committed, reliable and motivated. Show them your respect, admiration and appreciation for them as teammates, by being consistent and positive!
"We don't have to be superstars...All we have to do is learn to rise to every occasion, give our best effort, and make those around us better as we do it." ~John Wooden
